The “Fair Justice for All” community forum was informative and worthwhile.

The primary goal was to increase the understanding of the court system and other effects of fees, fines and penalties that affect people of color and to introduce and provide resources available to the community.

The presenters at the forum were Attorney Diane Post, Attorney Ben Taylor and Attorney Robert Wooten. Each attorney added some unique perspective and insight about the justice system in Arizona.

Those in attendance shared comments and experiences in dealing with the law and court system.

There were many topics covered and the presenters did an outstanding job of sharing their expertise. Attorney Post commented “We are currently working to have legislation presented in the upcoming session which will address several important areas in the legal system. Some of which include :interest charged on fees and fines paid to the courts and the fair implementation of Judges discretion.”

If you would like to contact any presenter with questions, please call 602-688-9906.

If you missed the Fair Justice for All Forum there will be a Session 2 held in early December. The “Fair Justice for All Workshops” are sponsored by the Arizona Informant Foundation and the Maricopa County NAACP Youth.
