Those involved in the fashion industry were able to network and connect all under one roof for the “Fall into Fashion” Mixer this past Sunday.
“All the time we see on social media, ‘Oh I need a makeup artist!’ ‘Oh, I need a photographer!’ including event producers,” Said Dee Joseph. “This is our first one, but this isn’t the only one we plan to do!”
The extravaganza was led by Dynasty’s Ink very own, Antoinette Fisher and Nubian Glam Rock’s, Dee Joseph. Its purpose is to connect the Valley’s local fashion industry’s elite to make mutually beneficial connections.
This event was also the kick off for the Arizona Fall Fashion Show season, which will debut the highly anticipated 6th annual fashion show “Fashion 4 a Cause,” on August 22.
This year the program will target providing support for those with Lupus.
“I started Fashion 4 A Cause about six years ago. We raise awareness of various health issues including HIV and AIDS, diabetes, heart disease, bullying; this year we’re doing Lupus,” said Antoinette Fisher. “This year you can actually pay online at www.pf4ac.com. Or you can go to flygirlsonlyboutique.com and donate there as well.”
The group plans to join forces with Lupus Foundation of America and participate in the Walk to End Lupus Now, which will be held in September. The proceeds will go towards the walk.
Along with Fashion for A Cause, we expect to see tons of shows in the next few months including Fab Weekend, Phoenix Fashion Week, and the youth fashion show, and Fashion Against Bullying, which premieres on September 12.
