The Travis L. Williams American Legion Post 65, located at 1624 East Broadway in Phoenix is now serving lunch. Wednesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Chef Dana Mitchell will be preparing a variety of foods for all to enjoy.
A native of St. Louis, Missouri Mitchell has been creating savory dishes for over 20 years. His career includes stints at Tony Roma’s in Scottsdale, Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas and Carnival Cruise Lines. He is known throughout the Valley for catering superb lunches and events for the Phoenix Suns and other organizations. He prides himself on caring about each meal he creates and that his customers are completely satisfied.
The menu at Post 65 is extensive and includes favorites such as fried chicken, baked chicken, tilapia fried and grilled, pork chops and burgers. Mitchell is also known for his tremendous salads. In addition, specials such as ox tails and smothered chicken are served on “Soul Food Fridays.” Prices range from $6 to $20, all meals are cooked to order, and you can phone your order in at 602-299-2722 or 602-268-6059. A member of the Sons of American Legion Post 65 and an avid sports fan, Chef Dana invites all Suns and Diamond-back fans to come and enjoy lunch at the Legion.
