While attending the Over The Hill Gang monthly 1st Friday brunch, I met up with the lovely Marlene Owens Wilson who informed me that time was running short for registrations for the Phoenix Union High School 1965 50th Class Reunion. She said that the Reunion Committee felt the word of the 50th reunion might not be getting out.
The Class of 1965 Reunion dates are October 2 through 4 and to get the special Airport Hilton Hotel rates of $79 per night, the reservation should be made by September 11. The reunion costs only $60 per person, and that includes Friday Night (Oct. 2nd) mixer-reception and the Saturday (Oct. 3rd) dinner dance. The Sunday (Oct. 4th) brunch is on your own.
Marlene said the 1965 P.U.H.S. class reunion committee has been working very hard to insure a successful 50th class reunion, and wanted me to let people know who these industrious folks are. The committee members include; Beverly Barnes Arrington, Mario Esquer, Bobby Buchanan, Stanley Muldrow, Andy Ramirez, Steve Collins, Mary Gallardo Ortega, Jerry Oliver, Norma Soto Munoz, Rose Fryer Jones, Jenny Sarcedo Hernandez, Doris Meader Brown, JoAnn Tkacz Scoccia and Inez Medina Ramirez. Looking at these committee members, it is pretty clear this is a true cross section of our community, and I suspect the reunion turn out may be substantial. As an alumnus, I wonder if they will let me in with my camera?
Marlene reminded me that the reunion is open to all P.U.H.S. alumni regardless of your class year, and there is still time to order T-Shirts, make your dinner selection, and register for the reunion by going to their website at www.PUHS-Class-Of-1965-Reunion.com/50th-reunion.
